I recently wrote an article on Supergrass if you're interested in taking a walk down memory lane. It sets up the new album nicely. I think.

I hope.

show your love? [11 Apr 2006|10:40pm]
which musician/group has had the biggest impact on your life?
i’ll start with the first one, supergrass.
how did you first hear about them/him/her?
my father played me i should coco when i went and visited him.
when was that?
the year 2000.
what was the first song that caught you on to this musician?
the whole first album… so the first song on that album then?
what song do you relate best to?
”shotover hill” even though each of them does it for me in someway. “faraway” is another one of those more
elegant ones. “i’d like to know”…
what song has had the most impact on your life?
“i’d like to know”
what song would you like to be played at your wedding?
”odd?”? maybe?
what song would you like to dedicate to your best friends?
”alright” (though i don’t do a lot of what this song is about)if somehow you were granted a wish to become a natural, talented singer and were given the opportunity to sing a duet with this artist on one of their songs, which would it be?
”late in the day” only this would be a little homoerotic with two lads singing it, right?
come ‘ere gaz!!!
if this musician could cover any song from the entire repertoire of music, which song would you want it to be?
”loose” by the stooges. this would be fucking brilliant! they could’ve pulled it off “in it for the money”
era for sure!
name the one song that makes you wish that this artist were begging on their/his/her knees for you.
i don’t know!
what song are you oddly turned on by?
”sun hits the sky?” it’s all cheesy and such sure…but wait until the chorus i am serious!
what song do you have the biggest appreciation for?
”sometimes i make you sad” because they do everything but this for me.
have you ever seen this artist before in concert?
if you saw this artist sitting in your local cafe, alone, drinking a cup of tea, would you run over to them/him/her or leave them/him/her be?
i would piss myself, flat out.
what song reminds you that this artist is a human being and not just an entertainer?
all of their songs are drastically personal songs.
what is your favorite song covered by this artist?
”some girls are bigger than others”
what is your least favorite song?
a bunch of he stuff off of the fourth album.
which album is your favorite?
in it for the money for being the general scope of their potential as both pub rock
(lolzcanigetawaywithsayingthis?) and proggers.
which album is your least favorite?
life on other planets.
is there a certain food or beverage that makes you think of this artist?
water. everything is so clear in their music…
is there a certain location that makes you think of this artist?
spokane washington when there’s snow. ireland too.
is there any other artist you are reminded of when listening to this artist?
the smiths, meddle-era pink floyd…
if this artist could collaborate with any other, who would you like for it to be?
the dandys(around come-down era)? can i get away with saying that?
what is your favorite quote by this artist?
”a true love for me, is all that i need, is something i’ve always done wrong…”

has anyone else here put together a list of the records that really changed one's life?

i did a few days ago and i should coco and in it for the money are the first two out of my top ten records that changed my life, autobiographically.

useless? i thought you might care, children of the monkey basket. just a little.

They aren't selling any Supergrass merchandise except supposedly at the New York and L.A. shows. No t-shirts, c.d.s... NOTHING. : (

The guys are all really nice. And everyone who wanted to chill backstage, could. Or at least at the Dallas show, everyone was eventually allowed to. There might have been a few people who were kicked out but that was only because someone supposedly important thought it was a bit overcrowded.

Pics from the Dallas Show [19 Feb 2006|03:27pm]

As expected, Supergrass was awesome last night. I managed to be next to the stage, in front of Gaz. I got lots and lots of pics, which I'm uploading *here* today.

(I've also got a few 20 second qicktime videos if anyone's interested)

Dallas show... [17 Feb 2006|11:49pm]
Anyone else going to the show in Dallas tomorrow night (Gypsy Tea Room)? I'm worried about the supposed sleet. And yes--there have been times bands have cancelled due to bad weather. Tell me if any of you find out anything.

my update series [13 Feb 2006|03:09pm]

I'll be having a sort of event on my LJ this week. Last Monday, myself and</b></a></b>, with all three parts (4,5, and 6). Tale with no 's' at the end too heh.
I think Supergrass would be proud... or scared.. either one :)

So ch-check it out!
The first part was today, the second will be on Wednesday, and the third on Friday.. so it is sort of a week-long "event" on my LJ

!!! [10 Feb 2006|03:02pm]

anyone want to go see supergrass with me in vancouver, bc on the 26th of this month?
my original friend decided not to go, so i decided to make the trip up from portland and stay alone, but it would be nice to have someone neat to go to the show with who also knows all the lyrics or has some interest in them or the opening band, pilotdrift (no idea who they are).

or, if you can think of any interesting communities to x-post this in, that might be helpful too. thanks!

read it in the papers, tell me what it's all about [03 Feb 2006|11:49pm]

Supergrass was in one of the daily papers here in Toronto today called the Metro. I would have never expected them to be in a highly mainstream daily paper like this one... so I think it's really cool and good for them.

address: http://www.metronews.ca/uploadedFiles/Metro_Toronto_0203_2006.pdf
It's a PDF, if you'd really like to read it. Find it on page 18. It's quite good, actually.

PS- They're here in THREE DAYS! AHHHH!

so yeah, i recently (what?) obtained Road To Rouen and i do like it. i'd listen to it more if it would play on my computer. i have other copy-controlled discs that play with no problem, so wtf.

for being friends with Radiohead, they sure as hell don't share their views on "illegal" audio distribution.
